Dois Nós is an instrumental music project created in 2011 by two young Brazilian musicians, Daniel Lovisi and Rick Vargas. In this duo they dedicate themselves to the creation of new compositions and arrangements for many different formations, putting together the universe of strings – acoustic and electric guitar – and percussion – cájon, congas, moringa, berimbau, derbak, among others.

The Dois Nós music aesthetic is based in some of the main Brazilian popular music genres as choro, samba and baião. The guitarist and composer Daniel Lovisi explores the melodic and harmonic richness of the Brazilian guitar language while the percussionist Rick Vargas search for the rhythmic and sound variety of the instruments from his home country. The result is a plural music able to be presented in different stages, linked to the concert music or to the popular music.

Since its foundation the duo has been playing in important festivals such as 4th Festival  de Música Instrumental para Viola, Violão e Guitarra (Vinhedo, São Paulo), Festival Cambio-S (Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais), Circuito Música da Cidade (Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais) and Festival Sonamos Latinoamerica (Santa Fé, Argentina).

In 2016, Dois Nós released its first album, "Nascer das Águas", bringing its own compositions and arrangements of works by Brazilians composers such as Radamés Gnattali e Toninho Horta.
